Welcome Anthony. I really appreciate the insight. I still have my sights set on doing something similar or reworking my garage. Just curious, what sort of permits did you have to pull, if any and what did they cost you?

Good to know you're a 7 Habits guy. I love the Covey material and have integrated so much of it into what I do and what I am. Stop by any time.

My shed tourned office cost $approximately $6000. This included the pre-fab 8x10 shed, electrical, cable, internet, phone, drywall, installation, ceiling fan, and flooring. I saved money by buying office furniture off of craigslist. I have photos on my blog, if you're interested. Thanks for your blog.I'll be checking in occasionally to read your time/life management tips. I'm a part-time 7 Habits facilitator and am always interested in how people balance their personal and professional lives.

From the comments on the post: @neail: The shed itself cost about $4000 (including delivery and installation). I spent another $2000 to have it insulated, dry-walled, painted and carpeted. I did all the wiring myself so I saved a lot of money there.

I've been eying my detached one car garage. It may be worth looking into.

Very cool. I'm trying not to covet. I really should be thankful and content with our spare bedroom, which does double-duty as my study. But this "shed" is a good option to keep in mind if the need ever arises for a separate office. I wonder how much it cost him from start to finish?
